Tottenham fans are going to be delighted by a big reported update about the fitness of their star Harry Kane.
According to the Sun, the Spurs and England centre-forward is “winning the race” to be fit for this weekend’s Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium against Manchester City.
Kane, 27, watched on from the stands on Wednesday evening, as Spurs beat Southampton 2-1 in the Premier League fixture.
Interim Spurs manager Ryan Mason will now lead Spurs out at Wembley for just his second game in charge of the club during Sunday’s League Cup final.
Kane picked up an ankle injury last weekend after scoring two goals in the 2-2 draw with Everton, leaving so many supporters concerned that he would be unavailable against Man City.
Despite uncertainty from Mason in his press conferences, reports suggest the world-class striker will be fit.

TBR’s View:
Spurs are certainly the underdogs to win silverware on Sunday, especially after the drama of Jose Mourinho being sacked earlier in the week.
But there is always going to be a chance if Kane is on the pitch.
He’s got a phenomenal record of 31 goals in 43 games across all competitions this season, and it’s going to give the whole squad a lift if he passes a fitness test to spearhead the attack.
With Heung-Min Son and Gareth Bale as two possible wingers to go either side of him, they should be able to ask questions of a Man City side that can be caught out defensively.
