All Nigeria Soccer have claimed that AFC Bournemouth have raided Tottenham Hotspur to lure youngster Ferdinand Okoh to the Vitality Stadium – after Spurs opted against offering the youth player a scholarship.
Central midfielder Okoh has spent little over a season at Tottenham after joining the club from West Ham United in February 2019, but the north London side have opted not to offer Okoh a new scholarship.
Indeed, that has forced Okoh to look elsewhere for a new home – instead of getting ready for an Under-18 campaign with Spurs next term. Okoh has had trials with Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth and Championship strugglers Stoke City.
It has appeared that Okoh has agreed a move to Bournemouth, signing a two-year deal with the Cherries which will see the midfielder move to the Vitality Stadium at the end of the season and begin an Under-18 campaign in red and black.

TBR’s view – Have Tottenham made a mistake in letting Okoh go?
It is a growing trend at Tottenham. Despite their reward-winning facilities, Spurs have lost a whole host of young talent over the last few months. The most notable departure was England Under-18 international Luis Binks.
The defender swapped Spurs for the MLS and Canada with Montreal Impact – playing alongside Victor Wanyama under Thierry Henry. Jonathan Dinzeyi has been on trial with Championship side Queens Park Rangers.
It remains to be seen just how good Okoh is, and faith must be placed in Tottenham’s decision to let him go. But for Bournemouth to be convinced into handing him a two-year deal, Spurs must surely be questioning their own decision.
