Reported Arsenal target Dennis Gyamfi would be “delighted” to join the Gunners this summer, according to Spanish outlet TodoFichajes.

The 18-year-old right-back is currently at Leicester City but is only contracted to the Foxes until the end of the season and is reportedly likely to leave for pastures new.

Gyamfi is yet to make a senior appearance for Leicester, with Ricardo Pereira and James Justin ahead of him in the pecking order, but has impressed at Premier League 2 level.

The Daily Star has suggested the Ghanaian has his heart set on a move from the King Power Stadium as he doesn’t see a route to first-team football under Brendan Rodgers.

Manchester United have also been linked with Gyamfi but TodoFichajes claims that not only have the Gunners made contact with his camp, but that the player himself is eager on a switch to the Emirates Stadium.

TBR View:

Given Arsenal – and many other football  clubs – are likely to be hit badly by the football shutdown caused by the global health crisis, a period of belt-tightening could be on the cards, with each club’s scouting departments looking at up-and-coming youngsters rather than big-money stars.

Gyamfi certainly seems to fall in this category, a teenage prodigy who Leicester fan site Foxes of Leicester has compared to Manchester United talent Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

“The Foxes academy graduate shows even more ferocity in the challenge than the Red Devil, already,” writes FOL. “Not to mention attacking down the line with skill, speed and crossing ability in a modern style.”

If the reports are true, then it looks as though Leicester’s loss could well be Arsenal’s gain in the coming months.
