Birmingham Live have claimed that Aston Villa have decided to shelve talks over a new contract for Albert Adomah, which could reignite interest from Championship rivals Leeds United.
The 31-year-old’s current deal is expiring in June. The former Middlesbrough winger is in serious trouble of losing his place in the Villa squad, and may have to start looking for a new home as of now.
Leeds were linked last summer according to the report, and it is also claimed that two offers were turned down in January for the Ghana international. Now, Villa may let him go for nothing.

Adomah was one of Villa’s shining lights last season. He scored 14 goals and laid on five more. This season, he has scored just two goals in 28 league games. The likes of Anwar El Ghazi are preferred.
TBR’s view
Adomah is a player with enormous Championship experience, and on a free, he would be a top signing – if Leeds fail to gain promotion.
The speed machine has 363 appearances in the second tier – scoring 58 goals and creating another 62 more, which are excellent stats for a winger. But he has only ever managed two Premier League appearances.
If Leeds gain promotion, Adomah can be forgotten about. But if Leeds fail to return to the Premier League, he has got to be worth the risk on a free transfer.
