Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino is keen to land Leicester City ace James Maddison, according to The Mirror.

The Argentine coach is currently gearing up for the Champions League final against Liverpool in Madrid, and a win would net them some eye-watering prize money.

Spurs can expect to take away around £72 million if they triumph at the Wanda Metropolitano on Saturday.

The Mirror claim that Pochettino will be backed with some of the prize money to try and sign Foxes star Maddison, who wowed in his first season in the Premier League in 2018/19.

The 22-year-old impressed with his ability to create chances regularly and his technical quality in the final third.

Apparently Pochettino is a big fan, and feels he will only get better.

Maddison would potentially be a fantastic signing for Spurs.

With seven goals and seven assists last term, he has more than shown how dangerous he can be.

The attacking midfielder has exciting potential and Spurs will probably face a battle to land him – so winning the Champions League and securing some extra finances certainly wouldn’t hurt.

With Christian Eriksen a potential departure this summer, Maddison pitching up at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium might not be out of the question.
