According to the Chronicle, Hamza Choudhury wants to leave Leicester and join Newcastle before the transfer window ends on Tuesday.

What’s the story?

Well, the £7,500-a-week man is currently out of favour under Brendan Rodgers at the King Power Stadium.

Choudhury has been left on the bench for Leicester’s first two Premier League games of the season, and seems pretty fed up.

The Chronicle believe there is a willingness from all parties to complete a loan move for the 23-year-old.

Newcastle’s budget is unable to account for any permanent moves after Joe Willock’s arrival in a £25m deal.

As a result, the Magpies can only make this happen if it is a loan.

How would Matt Ritchie feel about Hamza Choudhury joining him at Newcastle?

You may remember Choudhury’s name from an incident involving him and Matt Ritchie in August 2019.

The Leicester No.20 flew into the £10m Newcastle man, leaving him in a heap on the ground at St James’ Park.

After full-time, Steve Bruce told Sky Sports that Choudhury had left Ritchie’s leg ‘in a mess’ as a result of the heavy challenge.

Both Choudhury and Bruce then had a war of words.

After the Magpies boss warned the midfielder about tackling like that, Choudhury accused Bruce of hypocrisy and reminded him of how he used to act during his playing career.

In that respect, it will be interesting to see how all three get on if Choudhury completes the move – he’s clearly got a bit of fire in his belly, to say the least.
