Newcastle United have one transfer all set to be completed this summer but are waiting for the long-protracted takeover to take place before it can be ratified.

The Magpies are still in the process of a £300 million Saudi-backed takeover which is currently in the midst of a heap of red-tape.

The takeover reports have seen a host of clubs being linked with a move to St James’ Park. That includes top names like Philippe Coutinho, Edinson Cavani and James Rodriguez.

Now, The Chronicle is reporting that one Newcastle target is ‘just waiting’ for the takeover to be completed and will then be on his way to becoming a Newcastle player.

The report does not state who the player could be. Indeed, it could be a number of individuals considering the long list of names that have been linked with a move to Newcastle.

QPR midfielder Eberechi Eze has been heavily linked and The Chronicle recently reported that Newcastle are already tracking the player despite the takeover not yet being completed.

It could also be that the player in question is one of Newcastle’s current loanees, with the likes of Valentin Lazaro and Nabil Bentaleb potential full-term recruits for the Magpies.

It certainly appears that Newcastle are already trying to get business done and fans will be hoping some impressive recruitment swiftly follows.
