Report: PL side to 'sacrifice' £50m Liverpool target to raise funds to sign striker; Klopp ready to act

Liverpool are planning to try and exploit Wolves’ need to raise the funds to sign Hwang Hee-chan permanently by signing Adama Traore from Bruno Lage’s side, according to a report from Calciomercato.

Wolves are ready to cash in on Adama following Hwang’s impressive start to life on loan at Molineux.

Calciomercato reports that Wolves had wanted £50 million for the Spain international in the summer. However, that asking price has now dropped.

And that appears to have alerted the Reds. The report claims that Liverpool were close to completing a deal for the forward in the previous window. But that £50 million price derailed their pursuit.

However, Wolves dropping their asking price ‘greatly’ enhances the likelihood of a January move to Anfield.

A move away for Adama would then allow Wolves to ensure that Hwang joined them permanently.

Liverpool signing Adama Traore could end Reds’ hopes of signing another target as Wolves eye Hwang Hee-chan deal

Adama is not the only Wolves player Liverpool have been linked with in recent times. In fact, Hwang’s superb start appears to have caught the eye of Jurgen Klopp.

It was recently claimed that both the Reds and Manchester City want the 25-year-old, who has scored four times in the Premier League.

So moving to sign Adama would seemingly end Liverpool’s hopes of bringing Hwang to Anfield.

Such a decision may divide many of the Reds fans.

There is no question that Adama has the potential to be a game-changer. He has the ability to destroy full-backs.

However, he has not registered a goal or assist in the league this season. Last year, he only managed two goals and two assists.

So Hwang’s return of four goals this term may make him the more appealing target to some Liverpool supporters.

It would certainly appear that the Reds possess a lot of power regarding the futures of both players.
