Report: ‘Phenomenal’ talent compared to £60m star will join Manchester City this year
Brazilian teenager Kayky will join up with Manchester City later this year rather than arrive in January like originally planned.
According to the Athletic, the 18-year-old forward is ahead of schedule to join up with Pep Guardiola’s side. Kayky has seen his playing time with Fluminense slashed since agreeing on a move to City earlier in the year.
With the youngster no longer being considered with the Brazilian side, plans are in place for Kayky to join up with City before the January window. As per the report, the teenager will train with the first team rather than the U-23s.
However, Kayky will likely begin life with City playing development football as he settles into life in England. This doesn’t mean, though, that the attacker won’t see any first-team action this season.
After all, Gabriel Jesus arrived in City in January 2017 from Palmeiras. And the brazilian striker immediately made an impact on the senior side.
Gabriel Martinelli is another recent teenager from Brazil who has flourished in the Premier League.
With Italian pundit Gianni Di Marzio labelling the prospect as ‘phenomenal’ as well as having similarities to Achraf Hakimi, who signed for PSG this summer for a reported fee of €70m (£60m) according to Goal, there’s a good chance that Kayky will play under Guardiola this season.
And with City fast-tracking plans to bring the teenager to Manchester, the attacker could be ready to play top-level football in England before we know it.
