Liverpool midfielder Pedro Chirivella has asked the club if he can be demoted to the under-23s in order to stay sharp, according to La Razon.
The Spaniard is out of contract in the summer and the report suggests he wants to play with the under-23s whilst the club decide whether to give him a new deal or not.
Despite having played in FA Cup games against Everton and Shrewsbury Town; he was cruelly left on the bench as the Reds lost 2-0 to Chelsea.

With no more domestic cup action on the horizon for Jurgen Klopp’s team, it seems unlikely that Chirivella will earn another chance to impress for the first-team this season.
The report claims his future could be in Spanish football; although Nottingham Forest and another Championship club wanted him on loan during January (Goal).
A 22-year-old central midfielder he signed for Liverpool in 2013 from Valencia.
Despite offering lots of promise he has made just 11 first-team appearances in seven years at the club.
His departure would perhaps be a bit of a surprise though. Chirivella has shown in the cup competitions this season that he can play, offering a neat and tidy style from the middle of the park.
The former Spain under-17 international will leave having played just once in the Premier League, during a 3-1 defeat to Swansea in 2016.

Liverpool’s under-23 outfit are on the lookout for a new manager after Neil Critchley headed for Blackpool.
The squad looks set to be bolstered, however, with Chirivella asking Klopp if he can play for the development team to avoid ring-rust.
Chirivella currently trains daily with Klopp’s team but playing games for the under-23s would be an ideal scenario.
