Reported Leeds United transfer target Patrick Erras favours a move to England, according to a new report.

It was claimed by the Daily Mail last week that the Whites were one of several teams to have shown an interest in the player this summer. The defensive midfielder, who can also play at centre-back, has been in good form for Nuremberg this season, is available on a free transfer in the summer, and Leeds are said to have taken notice.

Now, Fussball Transfers in Germany has backed up that claim and suggested why Leeds might be leading the hunt.

They claim that several teams in Germany as well as Championship rivals Brentford and QPR, are also keen on the player this summer.

However, it is suggested Erras prefers the idea of moving to England to continue his playing career and would view the idea of playing under Marcelo Bielsa as ‘tempting’.

Factoring in Leeds’ potential promotion to the Premier League, and they hold a clear advantage in the race to sign the 6ft 5ins star.

Erras has previously been linked with a move to Newcastle United (Daily Star) when Rafa Benitez was in charge and is clearly a talented operator to have attracted such widespread interest.

Leeds fans will no doubt be hoping they come out victorious in the hunt for the colossal star.
