Report: Paris Saint-Germain to make January loan move for Tottenham star Dele Alli

French giants Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly set to make a move to try sign Tottenham’s Dele Alli on loan next month.

According to the Daily Mail, PSG are primed to make a loan bid for the 24-year-old once the January transfer window opens.

It is explained that they failed with loan approaches for the English playmaker back in the summer window, but they will return for a player that is massively out of favour with manager Jose Mourinho.

The report adds that Spurs are prepared to grant Alli’s exit, with PSG in a position where they think they will secure his signature.

Overseas champions PSG, who won last season’s Ligue 1 title and currently lead the way again domestically, have a star-studded squad, which includes the likes of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

It appears like £5million (BBC) star Alli could now get a chance for a fresh start by joining the French side, who are involved in the last-16 of this season’s Champions League.

The attacking midfielder was an unused substitute during Spurs’ Europa League win over Royal Antwerp on Thursday night to highlight how far down Mourinho’s pecking order he is and he’s not had any Premier League minutes since early October.

TBR’s View:

Alli reportedly has aspirations of breaking back into the England squad in time for next summer’s European Championships, something he’s certainly not going to achieve at Spurs in the second half of the season if he’s on the fringes.

It’s a huge shame that his career in North London has derailed in the last year, as he was key figure during the Mauricio Pochettino reign and a loan exit shouldn’t necessarily be the end of his Spurs career.

But he needs to get back to playing regularly and just eight appearances across all competitions so far this campaign shows a lack of faith from Mourinho.
