Report: Paratici wants £120k-a-week star as first Tottenham signing

Tottenham Hotspur could make Juventus midfielder, Adrien Rabiot, one of their first signings once the appointment of Fabio Paratici is confirmed.

That’s according to reports in Italy, where Gazzetta Dello Sport claim that Rabiot is high on Paratici’s list.

Spurs are set to appoint Paratici in the coming days. The Italian is set to join the club, despite a deal for Antonio Conte being called off last week.

Daniel Levy is hoping that Paratici can use his links in the Italian game and around Europe to attract players. And Rabiot, along with Leonardo Bonucci, is already being mentioned.

Rabiot has not quite lived up to the hype since he moved to Turin from PSG.

He’s also said to be on big money. The Metro claimed last month he has wages around the £120k-a-week mark. However, it was also claimed Rabiot could be available for around £17m. That fee could be a bargain.

He is a full French international with 25 caps. Rabiot actually enjoyed his best season last year. He made 34 appearances in Serie A, scoring four times.

However, Juve are said to be looking to cut some costs. Rabiot, then, could be among the players the club is open to selling.

Rabiot to Tottenham makes all kind of sense

Despite not quite reaching the heights many expected, Rabiot is still a class act. And Spurs need class acts to improve this squad.

If they have any hope of keeping Harry Kane, they need big signings. Rabiot would fall into that bracket, for sure.

He predominantly sits deeper in midfielder but is more than capable of carrying the ball further forward. Next to Hojbjerg, he would give Spurs a solid midfield foundation.

Paratici, meanwhile, will be keen to make a big splash when he arrives. If signing Rabiot is part of that, then Tottenham fans will be all for it.
