Report: Fabio Paratici throws spanner in the works of Tottenham signing £77m-rated star

Fabrizio Romano has recited some comments from Fabio Paratici that claims Tottenham aren’t interested in Dusan Vlahovic. Spurs were heavily linked with a move for the striker during the summer transfer window.

The Fiorentina frontman was also a target for Liverpool. In the end, Tottenham opted not to sign a striker to act as a foil for Harry Kane.

That could see the club try and land a new talisman during the next couple of windows. For now, it seems as though the Serie A machine isn’t on Paratici’s radar.

The 21-year-old signed for Fiorentina in 2018 from Partizan Belgrade. Last season was a standout campaign for the youngster as he scored 21 goals from 40 appearances.

He’s also off to a flyer this time around. Vlahovic has six goals in eight appearances, with his current club starting 2021/22 particularly well.

Vlahovic is seemingly not on the Tottenham agenda just now. Perhaps that means the club will be intending not to attack the transfer market during the January window.

In hindsight that perhaps isn’t a bad thing. Keeping Kane was always the remit in the summer and the challenge now is to get him firing once more.

Any striker who is signed by Spurs is likely to be back up to Kane right now. At this stage of Vlahovic’s career, staying at Fiorentina and continuing his development looks wise.

Vlahovic recently rejected a new deal, according to Tuttosport. However, he still won’t come cheap. It was claimed in the summer that Liverpool were preparing to pay £77 million for the talisman.

Tottenham fans won’t be happy with Paratici on Vlahovic claim

This will be a big shame in the eyes of Spurs supporters. Plenty would have fancied Vlahovic as the heir to Kane’s throne when he eventually gets his move away from Tottenham.

That does seem as though it will happen at some point and when he does call it quits, Spurs need to make sure they’re well-stocked in terms of a replacement.

Vlahovic wouldn’t have been a cheap option at all. He was, however, seemingly tailor-made for Tottenham and supporters will hope Paratici has something up his sleeve.
