Report: Paratici has made contact with Nahitan Nandez about Spurs move
Fabio Paratici is continuing his assault on the transfer market this summer with Spurs and has now reportedly made contact with Nahitan Nandez and Cagliari.
Nandez has emerged as a target for Spurs in recent weeks after seeing a move to Inter Milan fall through. He was previously a target for Leeds, with Whites fans unhappy at Spurs now joining the mix.
Known for his versatility, Nandez is thought to be valued around the £30.5m mark by the Italian side.
And now, Football.London have reported that Paratici has indeed made contract with Cagliari over a potential deal. Nandez is thought to be keen on getting away from the Italian side. However, any move to Spurs is dependant on players moving out as well.
So far, only Toby Alderweireld and Erik Lamela have left. The likes of Mo Sissoko, Serge Aurier, and Harry Winks are among the other names being tipped to move on.
Nandez, 25, played a key role for Uruguay in the Copa America. And after the signing of Cristian Romero, he could be another South American on his way to the Premier League.
TBR’s View: Nandez ideal for Spurs but big money
While there’s been talk of a deal being done for cheaper, Nandez would still represent another big outlay for Spurs. And frankly, they can’t just keep spending without bringing anything in.
Nandez would be a fine signing, mind. His versatility would be great for Nuno Santo, who likes to have options in wide areas and going forward.
But if the fee is close to £30m, then it’s a big spend again. Paratici, then, needs to get to work on moving some out. And quickly.
