Report: Paratici eyeing 21-goal striker for Tottenham; backed to be as good as Haaland
Tottenham managing director of football Fabio Paratici is reportedly keen on signing Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic.
According to Tuttosport, the 21-year-old attacker is an option for Spurs this summer, along with Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus. Vlahovic is one of Serie A’s most exciting talents, with the forward scoring 21 goals in the division alone last season.
The Serbian international is also on the radar for Premier League rivals Liverpool as reported by Tuttosport. The attacker is potentially a long-term successor to Roberto Firmino.
Tottenham have the edge in Vlahovic pursuit
With former Premier League attacker Stevan Jovetic backing Vlahovic via Football Italia to one day be as good as Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland, the hype around the Serb is very real.
The attacker lit up Florence last season with his goals and overall game. And Tottenham could have an edge in the race for Vlahovic given Paratici’s influence on the Italian market.
The former chief football officer for the Old Lady was key to many deals for Juventus as the Turin-based club dominated Serie A for most of the last decade. Indeed, Paratici has seemingly been hired by Tottenham to bring some level of success to the north London side.
Vlahovic could be perfect to replace Kane
The future of Harry Kane will be a huge talking point over the summer. But if the England captain does leave, Vlahovic could be the perfect option to replace the striker.
The 21-year-old attacker has all the physical and technical traits to be an outstanding option for Tottenham should Kane leave.
And with professionals in his position believing he can become one of the best in world football, the Serbian international is too good an option to pass up on this summer if Spurs need to sign a new striker.
