Newcastle United target Jorginho prefers a potential return to Serie A club Napoli if he decides to leave Chelsea.
The Daily Mail report that the Magpies have registered an interest in the Italian international midfielder but his first choice is Napoli.
He wants to go back to Italy if he departs Stamford Bridge, with a reunion with the man who brought him to Chelsea – Maurizio Sarri – possible at Lazio too.
That is a potential blow to Newcastle, with the Athletic reporting that a holding midfielder is their priority now the transfer window is open.

Jorginho prefers Napoli over Newcastle move
There are two ways to look at Newcastle’s reported interest in Jorginho.
On the one hand, he is 31 and the Magpies have largely avoided buying older, higher earning players since the takeover.
They have prioritised those who are on the up and hungry to come in and make a difference, but Kieran Trippier is a notable exception, who has been inspirational since his arrival.
And with Newcastle seemingly looking at bringing in a number six with Premier League experience who can make an instant impact, there is merit in the rumours.
But if he has his heart set on going back to Italy, and more specifically, Napoli, then there may be little Newcastle can do about it.
Someone like Youri Tielemans also has a dwindling contract and could fit the bill for Newcastle, who underlined their quality once again against Arsenal on Tuesday night.
