Arsenal are reportedly set to give on-loan defender Konstantinos Mavropanos a chance in the summer to prove he belongs in the first team at the Emirates Stadium.
The £25,000-a-week (Spotrac) Gunners-owned defender is currently on a season-long loan with German top-flight club Stuttgart.
According to Football London, the 23-year-old’s good form out on loan will mean he’s rewarded by getting to fight for an Arsenal senior spot in pre-season.
The Greek centre-back will return at the end of the campaign with a season of Bundesliga football under his belt, where he’s taken good strides forward.
He’s a ball-playing defender that is renowned for his pace and physicality.
Mikel Arteta’s squad is filled with plenty of defensive options right now, but it must be a real boost for Mavropanos to hear an opportunity in pre-season awaits for him.

TBR’s View:
Mavropanos has played eight first-team games for Arsenal since his move to north London back in 2018, and he’s somewhat of a forgotten figure.
But he’s developing well in German football with some impressive displays.
If he’s someone that is in line for an opportunity in pre-season, then the same definitely has to be said for fellow centre-back William Saliba.
The French 20-year-old didn’t break into the Arsenal set-up this year like many expected, but he’s been playing regularly again out on loan with Nice and is another big talent on their books.
