TBR View: FA Cup defeat hints Casey needs loan

Casey did not have the best time at Crawley on Sunday. The shock defeat was certainly not all down to the youngster. But Leeds endured a torrid time in the second-half, with Casey one of those who was brought on at the break.

It was a performance that perhaps highlighted that he could do with a loan. He is often shining for Mark Jackson’s youngsters. But he may not yet be ready to put pressure on the first-team centre-backs or Kalvin Phillips.

There is an opportunity for Casey to push for more game-time in the senior squad. Bielsa lauded him for developing a lot following his debut (via Leeds Live).

And a loan could hand the defender the perfect chance to take that next step.
