Report: Okay Yoksulu wants Premier League move, amid Leeds United links
Leeds United could get the chance to sign Okay Yokuslu this summer, with the former West Brom loanee keen on staying in the Premier League.
Turkish international Yokuslu spent the final few months of the season on loan with West Brom from Celta Vigo. He played 16 times during his stint at the Hawthorns, impressing on more than one occasion.
One such occasion was against Chelsea in the club’s 5-2 win. That day, West Brom fans raved about his ‘unbelievable‘ display in the middle of the park.
And according to a report from Goal, Yokuslu sees his future in the Premier League, with Leeds said to be one of the clubs he could sign for.
Speaking abruptly about his future, Yokuslu has essentially issued a come and get me plea to interested clubs.
“I have a contract with Celta Vigo for two more years. I don’t have clear information about the financial situation of the club. But frankly, they can put me up for transfer,” Yoksulu is quoted as saying by Goal.
“I want to stay in the Premier League. I had a good season there. But we don’t know what will happen.”
Leeds could be in the market for a new midfielder this summer. The Whites are looking to build on their impressive return to the top flight. Yokuslu, then, could well be someone who is of interest to Marcelo Bielsa.
Okay Yokuslu to Leeds – A good player but would he be a regular?
With Kalvin Phillips in the middle of the park running things, you would have to say no for the moment. And that’s not because Yokuslu isn’t a good player, it’s just how it is at Leeds right now.
Of course, the Leeds squad needs depth. On that front, Yokuslu would be a fine addition and he’s already proven his worth while with West Brom.
If he is available, and does want out of Celta, then Leeds could indeed do far worse than land the 27-year-old.
