According to a report from The Sun, Manchester United have told Marcos Rojo that he will not be leaving the club in January, in news that may perhaps be a potential blow for Everton.
The Sun reports that Rojo saw a £25 million move to Goodison Park fall through on transfer deadline day. The Toffees reportedly told the defender that they may return in the winter with a fresh offer – albeit with a lower amount being put on the table.

However, it appears that Everton will be set for disappointment if they were planning to make another bid.
The Sun reports that United have told the £140,000-a-week ace that he will not be leaving in January. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has reportedly decided that they cannot afford to let him go midway through the season, particularly after his upturn in form.

It is not clear whether Everton were going to make a fresh move. But given that they are short of options at the back, it would be no surprise if he was one name on the club’s potential shopping list.
Marco Silva was not able to sign another centre-back after seeing Rojo’s move collapse. And it would be a gamble to let January pass without making a signing in that area.
Marcel Brands may be wary of making any rash decisions in January. It is not an easy window to work in, especially for clubs keeping one eye on the long-term picture.
Some Everton fans may be pleased that any potential move for Rojo looks to be off the table. But they will still be anxious to see who does arrive to address Silva’s centre-back shortage.
