Nuno is the driving force behind Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Cristian Romero of Atalanta, Calcio Mercato claim.
Nuno in the driving seat
Spurs’ are now in advanced talks with Atalanta over the signing of the Argentine defender (Football London), who could be a highly eye-catching addition to their squad.
Tottenham’s push for Romero was initially thought to be the idea of Fabio Paratici, due to his connections in Italy.
However, it is now claimed that Romero is actually Nuno’s first choice.
Appealing signing
It is easy to see why the new Tottenham boss is seemingly so set on the 23-year-old too.
Romero is young enough to be developed, but he has already proven his class over the past season.

Romero was one of the very best players in Serie A last term, scooping the award for the top defender.
He is blessed with good pace, but is also comfortable on the ball, and he is strong in the air.
Romero looks to be quite an upgrade on any of Tottenham’s current central defensive options.
And if Spurs were to get a transfer over the line then Nuno and Paratici would surely be delighted with their transfer work.
