Nuno could use Dele Alli as an auxiliary forward at Tottenham Hotspur next season, EuroSport suggest.

New position

Nuno apparently wants to use a two-striker formation at Spurs, which has seen them linked with both Danny Ings and Sasa Kalajdzic already this summer.

But if Spurs fail to get a deal over the line, it seems that Alli may form part of Tottenham’s forward line.

In Tottenham’s best recent season, Alli worked brilliantly in tandem with Harry Kane – in a number 10 support role.

His late runs from midfield earned him comparisons to Frank Lampard, but he has since lost his way.

Kane and Alli?

Kane has also subsequently enjoyed dropping deeper, into the spaces that Alli likes to operate in, which means that it would be interesting to see exactly how their partnership would work.

But it seems that Nuno genuinely believes that the two Tottenham men could be used together.

Alli is now reportedly fully committed to turning his future around at Spurs, and has been pictured doing extra training in the off season to keep his fitness up.

Alli struggled last term under Jose Mourinho, but Tottenham are building to play a far more attacking style under Nuno.

And it is widely expected that the 25-year-old could be one of the biggest beneficiaries from Tottenham’s change of managers.
