Tottenham Hotspur boss Nuno is said to be lining up a double swoop for Takehiro Tomiyasu and Joachim Andersen by the London Evening Standard.
Nuno has only been employed by Tottenham for just under 48 hours at this stage, but he is already said to be looking at improving their defence.
Even with one of the most widely renowned defensive coaches in Jose Mourinho, Spurs allowed in far too many goals last term.
Their current options all have lingering question marks over them, and it seems that Nuno has made improving Tottenham’s defence one of his main priorities.
Andersen in?
Already reports of Tottenham’s move for Tomiyasu have been widespread, but it is interesting that they seem to be retaining an interest in Andersen.
The Lyon defender, who was on loan at Fulham last season, was heavily linked with Spurs in Jose Mourinho’s time.

But it seems that Tottenham have retained an interest in the Dane even at this stage.
Andersen would bring leadership quality to Spurs and his showings at Fulham last season suggested that he could impress in the Premier League.

However, Fulham’s relegation is a blot on his copy book – despite his own excellent showings – and he would arrive at Spurs needing to prove a point that he can handle the step up.
