According to The Telegraph, Nuno Espírito Santo has sanctioned Toby Alderweireld’s exit from Tottenham after a £13m bid was received.
What’s the story?
Well, Al-Duhail – based in Qatar – have offered £13m to sign the man who Tottenham paid £11.5m for in 2015.
That figure seems to have satisfied those in N17, as Nuno has now agreed to let the 32-year-old leave Spurs.
Fabio Paratici is trying to overhaul Tottenham’s backline, and is working on deals for Atalanta’s Cristian Romero and Bologna’s Takehiro Tomiyasu.
As a result, Alderweireld is surplus to requirements.
Should the Belgian agree personal terms with Al-Duhail, and also pass a medical, his six-year spell at Tottenham will be over.
The right decision

It’ll be hard to see Alderweireld go, but Nuno has made the right decision.
The centre-back is now 32, and it won’t be long until Tottenham need to start thinking about replacing him anyway.
In that respect, it’s a no brainer to accept £13m at this stage of his career.

Additionally, Tottenham will free up £80,000-a-week by letting the former Atlético Madrid colossus leave.
That’s quite a significant amount, and can be put towards luring Romero and Tomiyasu to north London.
In every aspect apart from sentiment, this is a fantastic deal for Tottenham.
