Report: Nottingham Forest want to sign a ‘sensational’ Leeds United player
Nottingham Forest like Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville and want to sign him after promotion to the Premier League.
The Athletic report that Summerville tried to get himself out of Elland Road on loan in the January transfer window, but was unsuccessful.
His contract is running down and an extension is being discussed, which is a sign of how he is rated at the club.
That said, Leeds have not yet decided whether to allow him to leave the club on loan, with Sheffield United also interested.
Forest want Summerville
The report says that Summerville is still keen for gametime and he is down the pecking order at Elland Road.
That means that a loan exit might be the way forward before the end of the transfer window, but a decision is yet to be made.
Summerville also has interest from abroad, but if Forest could offer regular football in the Premier League, that could be tough to turn down.
Despite the lack of first team opportunities, Leeds Under-23’ coach Andrew Taylor has now told the club’s official website that he thinks Summerville is ‘sensational’ going forward.
Yet what really pleases Taylor is the work he puts in off the ball too, and he predicts that Summerville will get a first-team chance very soon after working with Marsch.
“For me, Cry is a pleasure to work with,” said Taylor. “He works hard defensively and then his ability going forward is sensational. He just needs to keep doing that, keep performing. He will get his opportunities in our first team I’m sure.
“As you’ve seen tonight, he’s such a danger, he’s such a threat, an outlet for us, but he doesn’t stop there – he gets back, he gets into position.”
“Obviously they’ve worked a lot with Jesse and the first team lot, he’s took on board a lot of the key principles that they’re trying to do,” he added.
