An Arsenal move for Manuel Locatelli has not been ruled out this summer by sources at the club, although it has not taken place yet, Goal.com report.
Sassuolo CEO Giovanni Carnevali has stated that Arsenal have made an offer for his side’s midfielder, amid rival interest from Juventus.
However, Watts refutes those claims and says that Arsenal sources insist that no firm bid has been made for the Italy international.
That may come as a disappointment for Gunners fans, but in the update there was at least hope that a deal could take place.
Goal say that Arsenal making an offer for Locatelli in the future should not be ruled out, suggesting he is a player firmly on Mikel Arteta’s radar.
At present though, it is claimed that Sassuolo could be using Arsenal’s interest to try and force Juve into paying up for the Italian international.
How good are Arsenal’s chances?

If Locatelli was to join Arsenal he would be a hugely exciting signing for the Gunners on the back of a wonderful Euro 2020.Locatelli has been one of the stars of the tournament, where he has scored twice for Italy.
But with Juve interested, Arsenal’s chances of completing a deal do look slim.Juve, of course, have European football on offer and Locatelli wouldn’t have to relocate from the country if he was to move to the Turin side.
Arsenal, though, could offer him regular first-team football, as there is a space available in their midfield, with Granit Xhaka widely expected to depart.
