Report: Nkunku stalling possible Leipzig switch to wait for Arsenal
Reported Arsenal target Christopher Nkunku is said to be stalling a move to RB Leipzig to give Arsenal a chance to react.
According to L’Equipe, the young Paris Saint-Germain midfielder is close to completing a switch to the Bundesliga side with the Champions League clubs having agreed a €15 million (£13.4 million) deal.
But apparently Nkunku has now put the brakes on and asked for a ‘period of reflection’.
The starlet wants the Gunners to come calling, six months after they were linked with a loan move for the Frenchman.
Unai Emery’s side were heavily linked with a move for Nkuku in January, but ended up moving for Denis Suarez instead.
Nkunku seems to have issued a come-and-get-me plea and Arsenal must act quickly if there is still any interest on their part.
With a reported deal in place between PSG and Leipzig, time is of the essence.
Nkunku would be a great, cost-effective signing for Arsenal.
The youngster has great potential but just hasn’t been able to get regular game time at the Parc des Princes.
Emery handed Nkunku his first-team debut and knows him well, and his box-to-box style could be a welcome addition following the departure of Aaron Ramsey.
