Sky Sports in Italy have been reporting on Tottenham Hotspur’s apparent interest in Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo with suggestions his agent approached the club regarding a deal this week.
The report was discussing the first day of pre-season for the Giallorossi, as the Roma players arrived at Trigoria to be put through testing for Covid-19.
Sky Italia went on to report that Zaniolo’s agent Claudio Vigorelli was present after meeting an intermediary from Tottenham and was intending to open a negotiation with the club. However, AS Roma will not be selling the player and quickly informed his agent of that fact.

It seems then, that this is a non-starter for a player Tottenham have been liberally linked with in the past.
In July, The Guardian reported that Tottenham were interested in a move for the Italian international.
The report claimed that Zaniolo was not a priority target for this summer, however, Spurs will consider a move for him some time down the line.
That came after a report from Corriere dello Sport suggested Roma could be willing to sell him for as little as £50 million, compared to a far bigger previous asking price.
It seems that, for now, Tottenham have no chance of getting their hands on Zaniolo. However, Tottenham fans will be pleased to hear a player of his calibre is on their radar for the future.
