Football website 90Min have claimed that West Ham United, Newcastle United and Southampton are all interested in signing free agent Ahmed Musa, who has been without a club since October having been released by Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr.
Musa, 28, joined the Saudi side from Leicester City where he struggled – clocking up just 33 appearances during his two-year spell with the Foxes. The 87-time Nigeria international and captain proved much more efficient in the middle east.
He had a hand in 25 goals during his 57 appearances for Nassr, after leaving Leicester for a figure of £14.5million (Sun). But now without a club, a return to the Premier League is said to be on the cards – with West Brom being linked in January.
Indeed, Newcastle are interested after an injury suffered by Callum Wilson – while Southampton want cover for Danny Ings and West Ham need a striker after allowing Sebastian Haller to leave to Ajax, without replacing him.

TBR’s view – Musa is a bargain on a free transfer
Handing the Nigerian a contract until the end of the season makes complete sense. Musa offers not only another option up front, but he also gives clubs versatility – given he can play on either flank. He still has years left in the tank.
If one of the Premier League trio do not look to complete a move for him over the course of the next few weeks, then there will be a club elsewhere in Europe that looks to nab him. Musa might fancy a return to CSKA Moscow, where he played 184 times.
