Italian outlet Area Napoli have claimed that Newcastle United are willing to meet Napoli’s £35million asking price for midfielder Allan, as Newcastle’s potential new owners continue to work behind the scenes ahead of the summer window.
Allan, who turns 30 in the summer, is expected to leave Napoli in the coming months after a disagreement with current manager Gennar Gattuso. It is believed Napoli want £35million for the Brazil international.
Atletico Madrid are believed to have offered £22million for the ex-Udinese star, but that is far below Aurelio De Laurentiis’ asking price. Newcastle are willing to go higher than Diego Simeone’s side, and meet Napoli’s asking price.
The player is keen on a move to the Premier League after more than 200 appearances for Napoli, but it is believed that the eight-time Brazil international would rather reunite with Carlo Ancelotti at Everton.
Newcastle have already been linked with two other Napoli players, in the form of Dries Mertens (ESPN) and Kalidou Koulibaly, the latter of which Le 10 Sport claim Newcastle have offered a whopping £200,000 a week.

TBR’s view – Do Newcastle really need Allan?
Probably not. Allan is a top player and one of the first names on the Napoli team sheet, but given he is set to turn 30 in the summer and is untested outside of Italy and Brazil – surely Newcastle can do better, given their potential new cash resources?
The club currently boast Jonjo Shelvey, Isaac Hayden, Nabil Bentaleb and the Longstaff brothers who all boast a chance of keeping their place in the side going forward. Allan is an improvement, but hardly one worth splashing £35million.
