Report: Newcastle United willing to consider signing £58m Premier League winger now, Gary Neville thinks he's like Eden Hazard
Newcastle United are on the lookout for attacking reinforcements this summer and the Athletic reports that the club are willing to consider a move for Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic.
At times, the American has been brilliant but has struggled to find consistent form and nail down a place in Chelsea’s first-team under boss Thomas Tuchel.
A brilliant display against Manchester United last season even led to legend Gary Neville comparing the 23-year-old to former Chelsea man Eden Hazard on Sky Sports.
But Pulisic hasn’t quite managed to match the consistency of the Blues legend as of yet and it seems that Newcastle could be keen on bringing him to St James’ Park.
Newcastle to consider signing Pulisic
Chelsea duo Callum Hudson-Odoi and Conor Gallagher are two of the players the Magpies have asked about but they could also move Pulisic.
The United States international is considered a wide option but Newcastle could consider making a move.
It’s unclear whether Chelsea would be open to letting Pulisic leave but he could face limited game time this season, especially after the arrival of Raheem Sterling.
Eddie Howe has been searching for attacking reinforcements this summer, but the club have had little joy so far.
Reports suggest that the Magpies have had a bid turned down for Leeds winger Jack Harrison and that it would take a staggering offer to sign the player.
And it seems that Howe could now turn his attention to move for other targets later in the window and if Pulisic is available, the Magpies could make their move to sign him.
The Chelsea man made 22 appearances for Tuchel’s side last season, managing six goals and two assists.
Despite some promising displays since his arrival in West London, he’s now into his last two-years of his contract and the club may have to make a decision on the player’s future soon.
