Newcastle United will move for Philippe Coutinho this summer if they appoint Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager in place of Steve Bruce.
According to a fresh report from the Mirror, the Magpies will make their move for Coutinho to make a big splash in the transfer market under their new owners.

Coutinho, who has struggled at Barcelona since making a £142m move from Liverpool, has spent the last two years with Bayern Munich.
The German giants are not expected to follow up their interest in the Brazilian. That could leave the door open for a return to the Premier League, with Newcastle seemingly at the front of the queue.
Mundo Derportivo claims that Pochettino saw a move for Coutinho blocked by Daniel Levy at Spurs last season.
But with no such blockers in place at St James’ Park, Pochettino could be free to move for the playmaker. Any move would be a statement of intent from the news Newcastle owners.

However, the deal hinges on Steve Bruce losing his job and Pochettino taking the reins. The current Newcastle boss is apparently fighting for his job already despite the takeover deal not even being confirmed as yet.
Coutinho exactly the type of signing needed to appease anger over Bruce decision – TBR View
Newcastle fans, for all their complaints about Bruce at times this season, won’t all be 100% behind the club simply sacking Bruce.
There’ll be some who see it is a necessity, while some will feel it’s a harsh decision. However, the signing of a player with the quality of Coutinho would comfort things.
We’ve all seen the quality the Brazilian has from his time with Liverpool. And while things haven’t gone quite as swimmingly since he left, he’s still a world-class talent.
If Newcastle do want to make an impression, Coutinho is exactly the type of player the club needs.
