Newcastle United are reportedly keeping tabs on Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar. The Magpies are currently in the process of being taken over by a Saudi-backed takeover and will be likely to make major moves in the transfer market once that is ratified.
Plenty of readymade stars have already been linked with a St James’ Park switch, including Gareth Bale, Philippe Coutinho, and Edison Cavani.
But Aouar would be a far more exciting acquisition considering his unbelievable ability.

As reported by Foot-sur-7, the Magpies are now keen on a move for the Lyon star, who has previously been linked with both Liverpool and Manchester City.
Liverpool, according to The Mirror, were prepared to sign the player this summer before the current global health crisis stunted their transfer plans. Pep Guardiola is a massive fan of Aouar, as he confirmed to The Sun after facing the ‘incredible’ Frenchman in the Champions League.
“Houssem Aouar is a very good player, he is incredible.
“We talk a lot about Ndombele but Aouar is also excellent. He’s always very calm with the ball at his feet, with an excellent technical quality.”
Now Newcastle appear to be keen and reports this week have suggested that Lyon could be open to a sale.
L’Equipe is reporting that Lyon would accept offers of €50 million (£43m) for their star asset this summer as they look to raise funds of their own.
Newcastle may be in a privileged spending position this summer and they might just have the advantage when it comes to securing Aouar’s signature.
Magpies fans should undoubtedly be hoping that this deal can get done.
