Newcastle United are reportedly interested in a move for Greek international goalkeeper Odysseas Vlachodimos. Reports from Sport24 are suggesting that the Magpies have been interested in the Benfica stopper since last summer and are now set to be in a position to sign him.
The report claims that the Saudi-backed takeover at Newcastle United will allow the club to make a move for the player, who is valued at €20 million (£17.6m) from the Benfica star.
However, the report does claim that Vlachodimos is happy at the Portuguese club and in Lisbon, so convincing him to make the move might be difficult.

Newcastle are not alone in their interest for the 26-year-old German-born stopper. As reported by Record in January, Ajax view the stopper as a potential replacement for Andre Onana, who is set to make a move away from Amsterdam.
It would be something of a surprise move from Newcastle. The club have plenty of areas in the squad that need improving with their upcoming cash windfall but Martin Dubravka appears a solid option between the sticks.
Meanwhile, Freddie Woodman is a talented youngster and Rob Elliot always seems ready to stick around as a back-up if offered a contract.
But if Newcastle have decided to bring in a new stopper with their new financial clout, then Vlachodimos would be a brilliant recruit.
