Newcastle United are reportedly interested in the signature of Wilfried Zaha. That is according to a report from The Sun, who suggest the Magpies are ready to make a move for the Crystal Palace winger.
The report details that the Saudi-backed consortium interested in buying the Tyneside club are already sounding out the potential signature of Zaha, who is valued at over £60 million by The Eagles.
This is despite the club’s apparent first-choice manager option Mauricio Pochettino wanting full control over signings. However, it is suggested that the Argentine was keen on the player during his time at Tottenham and would welcome a move for the Ivory Coast international at St James’ Park.
The report also details plans to move for Old Firm striking sensations Odsonne Edouard and Alfredo Morelos of Celtic and Rangers respectively.
A move for Zaha will undoubtedly excite Newcastle fans. The Ivorian is said to prefer a Champions League switch but is believed to be open to a Tyneside move if major investment is promised at the club.
Considering Zaha’s excellent performances in the Premier League over the past few years, he would be an undoubtedly exciting signature for the club.
At 27-years-old, he is about to enter his prime and if Newcastle could tempt him up from London they could be making a very impactful signing.
