The Telegraph have claimed that Newcastle United are interested in signing Liverpool playmaker Adam Lallana in the January transfer window, as the England international’s contract looks set to expire at the end of the season.
Lallana, 31, is in the final few months of his current deal at Liverpool. He is available to non-English clubs under a pre-contract agreement, but The Reds may be willing to sell him next month in order to bring in some cash for his signature.
The Telegraph have claimed that Jurgen Klopp is desperate for Lallana – a £25million (Mirror) signing from Southampton in 2014 – to sign a one-year deal. However, the report claims that Lallana is likely to leave, though at the end of the season.
The latest report claims Newcastle are interested and are willing to spend money, but The Toon are aware that there will be multiple offers for Lallana – and that the ex-Southampton player is likely to wait until the summer to make a decision.

TBR’s view – Lallana would be a stunning signing for Newcastle
He is just what Newcastle need. Steve Bruce has all the ingredients to finally take Newcastle from relegation battlers into mid-table obscurity – but he needs a player to be able to tie it all together in a neat bow. Lallana is that man.
Two skilful, pacy, goalscoring wingers? Check. Two strikers that offer different qualities? Check. A hard-working, central-midfield base? Check. A number 10 capable of producing magic and combining the aforementioned? Not yet.
Adding Lallana to the Newcastle side is the last piece in Bruce’s Toon jigsaw.
