Newcastle United could reportedly move for Chelsea midfielder Kyle Scott.
The midfielder’s deal at Stamford Bridge expires this summer and he will be available on a free transfer.
According to the Sun, Newcastle could hand the 21-year-old a lifeline by offering him a switch to St James’ Park next month.
It is understood that the youngster is keen to make the move to the North East to try kickstart his career.
The report details manager Rafael Benitez is prepared to take a chance on him.
Scott has been a successful player in Chelsea’s youth ranks over the years, but hasn’t been able to find a serious senior breakthrough and made just one first-team appearance.
He featured off the bench against Hull City in 2018 under Antonio Conte, but his only other senior football came this campaign out on loan in Dutch football outside of the top-tier.

TBR’s View:
Scott is heading for the exit doors at Chelsea and it would be some lifeline for Newcastle to pick him up.
He’s a versatile midfielder that can play in offensive or defensive areas, but whether he can compete in the Premier League remains a huge question.
There would be little harm in Benitez’s side snapping him up on a free transfer and they only need to look at Sean Longstaff’s story for a reason to be optimistic.
He would surely be on the fringes if he did join Newcastle, but would be a good young talent to work with and develop.
