Newcastle United are considering making a late move for Bournemouth wideman Jordon Ibe.

The Magpies have just completed a move for Allan Saint-Maximin, but The Sun claim Steve Bruce and his superiors are looking at more reinforcements before the transfer window closes this week.

Apparently Ibe ‘could be available’, with Bournemouth having just signed Arnaut Danjuma from Club Brugge.

Ibe has been at the Vitality Stadium since 2016 after transferring from Liverpool in a £15 million deal (BBC Sport).

The Englishman has struggled to convince on the south coast, and has scored just five goals in 88 games. He’s also only made nine assists.

Newcastle’s ‘interest’ in Ibe is somewhat perplexing.

During his time with Bournemouth, he has struggled to show consistency and has seemingly had a hard time dealing with his £15 million price tag.

Newcastle are a huge club with a passionate fanbase, and there could be a chance Ibe would wilt under the pressure.

With one year remaining on his contract, Newcastle certainly shouldn’t offering anywhere near what Bournemouth paid for the £38,000-a-week winger (Spotrac), not should the Cherries be asking for such a figure.
