Newcastle United are planning to step up their interest in Dusan Vlahovic after watching the striker on international duty with Serbia, according to a report from The Sun.
Vlahovic remains one of the most highly sought-after strikers in Europe right now. He has 10 goals in 13 appearances in Serie A this season.

The 21-year-old also helped Serbia book their place at Qatar 2022 with a dramatic win over Portugal during the most recent break.
He is wanted by Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester City. But The Sun claims that it was the Magpies who watched Vlahovic in action for his country earlier this month.

It is suggested in the report that it is believed that he could be signed for less than the £70 million he is apparently valued at.
And with neither City or Spurs desperate to make January signings, The Sun suggests that Newcastle could make the first move.
Newcastle will have tough time convincing Vlahovic to sign amid Tottenham and Manchester City interest
Clearly, few clubs can compete with Newcastle on a financial front. However, Eddie Howe’s men have to focus on keeping themselves in the Premier League this season.
For that reason, signing Vlahovic may not be easy. His contract with Fiorentina expires at the end of next season.
With that in mind, he may surely struggle to justify moving to Newcastle in January.
Moving to Tottenham or City would present Vlahovic with the chance to battle towards the Premier League summit.
And he may well feel that he is better off waiting to see if that sort of move presents itself, rather than heading to Tyneside just because Newcastle may be the first to come calling.
