Newcastle United are set for contract talks with starlet Elliot Anderson over a new deal, potentially within weeks.
The Athletic report that the Magpies have high hopes for the midfielder, and could well send him out on loan soon.
Championship or League One are the most likely destinations for Anderson, who shone in League Two with Bristol Rovers in the second half of last term.
And before he goes, he could well have discussions over a new contract, to extend the one he currently has which runs until 2024.

Newcastle plot Anderson contract talks
The report says Newcastle know they could be in a precarious position over Anderson’s future if they let his deal run into its final season.
They know Manchester United have been sniffing around and getting reports on Anderson from youth scouts.
But it seems they are keen to get his future resolved, acknowledging that he has outgrown the terms of his present contract.
The report also carries quotes from Eddie Howe, where Anderson is hailed as ‘incredible’ for his impact at Bristol Rovers.

Newcastle want to avoid a situation where Anderson impresses on loan but then has a season left on his deal, leaving them vulnerable to cut-price bids.
West Brom, Stoke, Luton, Sheffield Wednesday and Rovers are the clubs named in the report as being interested in Anderson on loan.
But there are many more, from elsewhere in England and also in the Scottish Premiership, and that next move is important for Anderson.
First, Newcastle will hope to sort his contract and resolve the future of a player who could have a very bright future at the club.
