Newcastle United are one of the teams that are looking set to miss out on Antonee Robinson, with The Northern Echo reporting that the Magpies had held talks with the left-back at the weekend.
Robinson looks set to return to the Premier League a year after leaving Everton for Wigan Athletic. As noted by The Northern Echo, his form during the first-half of last season attracted AC Milan’s attention before a January move fell through.

The Latics’ off-field issues however, have prompted the club to welcome offers for their players this summer. Youngsters Alfie Devine, Jensen Weir and Joe Gelhardt are amongst those to have already moved on during this window.
And it appears that Robinson could be next to leave. The Northern Echo reports that he is closing in on a £2 million move to Sheffield United.

But it appears that he had the opportunity to move to St James’ Park.
The report claims that Newcastle held talks with the USA international over the weekend and were willing to meet his asking price.
Unfortunately, Steve Bruce’s side look to have missed out to the Blades.
TBR View: Robinson could have been smart signing for Magpies
Having used the loan market to bolster their left-back options last term, Newcastle certainly appear to need to make a signing in that area of the field this summer.
Robinson is unproven at the highest level. But he was hugely impressive for Paul Cook’s side, who would have comfortably stayed in the division were it not for a points deduction.
And for £2 million, he would have arrived under a lot less pressure. It is a big shame therefore, that Newcastle have seemingly lost out.
