Newcastle United are reportedly ready to make a firm bid for Hull City winger Jarrod Bowen.
According to The Telegraph, Steve Bruce is set to raid his old club to try and land the 23-year-old, who has previously been valued at around £20 million.
It is not stated if the Magpies will be bidding close to that figure, but apparently they have been privately given encouragement that Hull will sell.
Bowen is one of the Championship’s brightest stars, having shown an aptitude for scoring goals from out wide.
This term, the left-footed ace has 17 goals in 29 games which has seen his stock soar.
Newcastle were said to be interested last summer but never bid for the player, but they have continued to monitor him.
TBR’s view – Bowen can transform toothless Newcastle
He would be coming up from the Championship, but Bowen has been showing he has potential to become a top quality winger in English football.
Newcastle have been struggling to score goals for a while now and Bowen could seriously improve the team in the final third.
An attack of Bowen, Allan Saint-Maximin and Miguel Almiron in behind a new striker could help Steve Bruce’s side become a different animal.
