Newcastle United are ready to make a bid for Japhet Tanganga, with Tuttomercatoweb reporting that the Magpies want to sign the Tottenham Hotspur on an initial loan with an obligation to buy.

Tanganga appears to be facing an uncertain future in North London. He impressed on a number of occasions last season. However, he was unable to really prove himself to Antonio Conte due to injury.

The 23-year-old is involved in their pre-season tour in South Korea. However, there is speculation surrounding his future.

Reports have claimed that AC Milan want Tanganga. But he could be offered the chance to remain in the Premier League.

Tuttomercatoweb reports that Newcastle want the versatile defender. The Magpies are looking at a loan deal which comes with an obligation to sign him permanently.

Interestingly, the report adds that Spurs would be very happy with such an offer. So perhaps it may only be agreeing a future fee and personal terms separating Tanganga from Tyneside.

Newcastle want to sign Japhet Tanganga from Tottenham

Tanganga could be in line for a frustrating season should he stay at Tottenham. Unfortunately, he is not someone likely to feature in what Conte considers to be his strongest lineup.

He will surely want to play at this stage of his career. And regular game-time is surely a lot more likely at Newcastle.

He would be an excellent signing for Eddie Howe’s men. Tanganga has been labelled ‘amazing‘. And it does appear that he could have an extremely high ceiling if he can stay fit.

It will be interesting to see if Tanganga would rather move to Milan or stay in the Premier League and join Newcastle, if he does want to move on this summer.
