The Athletic report that Eddie Howe is keeping a close eye on the promising midfielder, who has just one year left on his current contract.

Newcastle are looking to get creative with their approach to improving their squad and one possible solution could be getting a young English talent at an affordable price.

Another bonus is that he would not need to be registered to the club’s 25-man Premier League squad because of his age and homegrown status.
