Newcastle United still want to sign Everton academy graduate Anthony Gordon despite increasing interest from Chelsea.
The Athletic report that Chelsea are willing to pay more than £45 million to sign the Englishman from Goodison Park.
But that has not put Newcastle off as they continue their search for increased threat from wide areas before the end of the transfer window.
Everton have already sold Richarlison this summer, which may well strengthen their resolve and bargaining position when it comes to Gordon.

Newcastle still want Gordon
Chelsea can offer Champions League football but perhaps not the same level of gametime as Newcastle would provide for Gordon.
The Blues have signed plenty of young English talent and brought enough of it through the ranks in the past five to ten years.
But not many of those players get into the first team, with Reece James and Mason Mount among the most notable exceptions.
Others have been farmed out on loan and then sold on in order to balance the books and raise funds for more experienced players to come in.
That is something that Gordon will have to consider and the story of someone like Ross Barkley should act as a cautionary tale.
Frank Lampard labelled Gordon ‘amazing‘ at one stage last season, and it seems that there are still at least two interested parties in his signature, with Newcastle still in the chase.
