The Newcastle United medical team reportedly still have some concerns about Andy Carroll over his fitness, despite him returning to action at the weekend.
Carroll was brought on for his second debut for the club in the second half against Brighton at St. James Park on Saturday.
The striker had been recovering from a career-threatening ankle problem, which required surgery.

Any fan that was hoping to see Carroll featuring regularly from here may have to curb their enthusiasm, with The Telegraph reporting that sources have informed them the chances of him starting a game before Christmas are ‘extremely slim’.
The fragile 30-year-old will supposedly be reduced to mere cameo roles, with careful management required over his game time.
That, if true, will be a massive frustration for the Newcastle faithful, who were absolutely delighted to see him back on the pitch for their team on Saturday.
TBR’s view
Carroll reportedly being deemed unfit to start games will mean Joelinton has to step up for Newcastle.

The Brazilian striker has found the going tough in the Premier League so far following his summer move from Hoffenheim.
Newcastle aren’t scoring goals and as the £40 million man (BBC Sport) up front, Joelinton has a lot of responsibility.
