Report: Newcastle may exhaust transfer budget on Willock
Newcastle United may allegedly be willing to exhaust their transfer budget on Joe Willock this summer.
What’s the story?
According to The Athletic, the Geordies have a ‘meagre’ budget to spend on transfers this window.
Previous reports have claimed it is either £10m or £12m. As a result, it means Newcastle are only able to sign two players on loan and one in a permanent deal.
If Arsenal show a willingness to sell Willock for £20m, the Magpies could exhaust their entire budget.
But, old reports have claimed the north Londoners could demand up to £30m for the central midfielder.
Newcastle should happily go all in
It is not often that a perfect player pops up in the market.
Usually, clubs are forced to do extensive scouting to find the right player for the right amount. And even then, his success isn’t guaranteed.
When Willock walked through the doors of St James’ Park, there was a feeling he would be successful. It was clear for everyone to see, the Magpies needed some sort of midfield reinforcement.
But, admittedly, his impact shocked even the most optimistic of Newcastle fans.
It means the 21-year-old could not be more perfect for Steve Bruce’s side for next season.
Newcastle should happily exhaust their transfer budget on Willock this window.
The midfielder possesses the perfect skillset to take the club to the next level. His blend of defence and attack makes him a great box-to-box player.
