Newcastle United have made their move to sign Joe Willock from Arsenal again, the Times report.
Key signing
Newcastle took Willock on loan from Arsenal last season and he made a huge impact at St. James’ Park.
The 21-year-old netted eight goals in 14 games from midfield, and went on a seven game scoring streak.
While it seems unlikely that he will be able to keep up that volume of goals, Willock has already proven that he is more than capable of raising the standard of Newcastle’s midfield options.
And it seems that Steve Bruce’s side have now made an attempt to sign one of their top targets this summer, after he was called ‘amazing’ by Allan Saint-Maximin (Stadium Astro).

Loan move again?
Newcastle currently want Willock on a season long loan, but it remains to be seen whether Arsenal would agree to another temporary move.
The Gunners seem to want to raise funds for their own additions, and may prefer to sell the 21-year-old rather than loan him, with his value rising due to his impressive loan on Tyneside last term.
If Willock was to sign for Newcastle he could become their first addition of the summer, and would surely be an important part of Steve Bruce’s side next term.
