The Telegraph claim Newcastle United are leading the charge to sign Tottenham defender Joe Rodon on loan. The Toon are beating three other Premier League clubs, in Leeds, Watford and Brighton.
Rodon, 24, has played just six times for Tottenham this season – and only once under Antonio Conte. That only outing came in the defeat to NS Mura, in which he was hooked before the hour mark.
Reports have suggested that the 22-time Wales international is ‘frustrated’ at Spurs. Now, the Telegraph report that four Premier League clubs are interested in signing the ex-Swansea City star.
Newcastle are on pole position. The Toon wanted Kieran Trippier and James Tarkowski – and while Trippier might go through, Burnley are unlikely to allow Tarkowski to join one of their closest rivals.
However, Newcastle are not alone in their pursuit of Rodon. Brighton boss Graham Potter worked with Rodon at Swansea, while Watford and Leeds are also keeping an eye on the Tottenham star, ahead of a potential loan.

Leeds and Newcastle eye Rodon: Which club is best for Tottenham star?
A move to Newcastle would see Rodon instantly become the club’s best central defender, and play week in, week out. Only on loan, there is no danger that he will be playing Championship football next season.
What it will do, is either put him in the shop window for another club – or even Newcastle if they stay up. Or, it enhances his chances of breaking into Tottenham’s side. Watford have options.
Brighton do, too. Leeds have four first-team centre-backs but Liam Cooper, Diego Llorente and Pascal Struijk were all missing on Saturday – so a loan for Rodon might be ideal. But Newcastle is his best option.
